1The short version
- We use your transcript to write your report, then our server forgets it.
- We save your report, not your transcript.
- We don't sell your data, show you ads, or use your transcripts to train AI.
- You can delete your reports any time, and your account by emailing us.
2Who runs Verafair
Verafair (“we”, “us”) is an independent product run by an independent developer based in the United Arab Emirates. We decide how the personal data described here is used. You can reach us at support@verafair.io, and a person will reply.
3Your transcript
When you submit a transcript:
- It travels over an encrypted connection to our server, which sends it to our AI provider (Anthropic) to write your report. Very long transcripts are shortened first, and we tell you when that happens.
- Our server doesn't save it to our database, files or logs. We only record how long it was, in characters.
- A copy stays in your own browser so you can read it next to your report. It isn't sent back to us or synced to your other devices. The browser keeps your last 20 and removes older ones.
- Your report includes short, word-for-word quotes from the transcript (about 40 words each at most) as evidence for each point.
To remove the browser copies, use “Clear transcripts” in Settings or clear this site's data in your browser.
4What we keep
- Account: your name, email and profile picture from Google when you sign in. We never see your Google password.
- Reports: the call type, the report, its title, the date and the transcript length.
- Usage: how many reports you've made this month, to apply your plan's limit.
- Billing: if you pay for Pro or Max, your plan, subscription status, renewal date and a customer ID from our payment provider. We never see your card number.
- Feedback: report ratings and comments, and feature suggestions (anonymous if you aren't signed in).
- Share links: when you created a link and whether you turned it off.
- Technical data: our hosting provider handles things like IP address and browser type to deliver the site and block abuse.
5Why we use it
Only to:
- run the service: sign you in, write and save reports, apply plan limits;
- handle subscriptions and keep the records tax rules require;
- keep the service secure and improve it, using feedback and overall usage numbers;
- tell you about important changes to your account or these policies.
6Who else handles it
We use a few trusted providers. Each one handles your data only to provide its service to us.
- Anthropic (USA) writes the report using its Claude AI model. Under its commercial terms, it doesn't train its models on what we send and deletes it within 30 days, unless its safety systems flag misuse or the law requires it to keep it longer.
- Google (USA) handles sign-in, and website analytics if we turn them on.
- Neon hosts our database.
- Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website.
- Sentry (USA) receives error reports so we can fix bugs. We remove transcript text, report content and your personal details before anything is sent.
- Dodo Payments is the official seller of Verafair subscriptions (the “merchant of record”). It takes your payment, handles sales tax, and uses your billing details under its own privacy policy.
Some of these providers are outside the UAE, mainly in the USA, so your data may be processed there. We rely on each provider's data protection terms to keep it safe.
We'll only share data with anyone else if the law requires it, to protect people's safety, or if Verafair is sold. If it's sold, this policy keeps applying to your data.
7Sharing a report by link
Anyone with a report link can view that report without signing in, so share it carefully. Shared pages show the report, call type and date. They never show your transcript, name or email, but the report itself contains short quotes from the call. You can turn a link off at any time, and deleting a report turns off its link too. We can't recall copies someone made while they had access.
8Cookies and browser storage
- Sign-in cookies keep you signed in. They're required for the site to work.
- A usage cookie counts free reports used this month when you aren't signed in. It's also required.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are used only if we turn analytics on, never on shared report pages. Where the law requires it, we'll ask first.
- Browser storage keeps your transcript copies and session details on your device. We don't read it from our servers.
9How long we keep it
- Reports are kept until you delete them (“Delete reports” in Settings) or your account is deleted. On the Free plan, reports older than 30 days are hidden, not deleted.
- Your account: email support@verafair.io and we'll delete your account, reports, ratings and share links within 30 days.
- Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require, even after you close your account.
10Other people in your transcript
Transcripts usually include someone else's words, like the person you interviewed. Before you submit one, make sure you're allowed to share it. For example, tell participants the call is recorded and how it will be used. We don't check this for you. Where you can, remove names and details the report doesn't need.
11Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the UAE data protection law or the EU/UK GDPR), you can ask us to:
- show you the data we hold about you, or give you a copy;
- fix data that's wrong;
- delete your data;
- stop or limit how we use it.
Email support@verafair.io. We may need to confirm it's you, and we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
12Security
All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS), and our database is encrypted when stored. Share links use long random codes that can't practically be guessed. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we'll tell you and the authorities where the law requires.
13Children
Verafair is a work tool for adults (18 and over). If you think a child has given us personal data, tell us and we'll delete it.
14Changes
When we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll tell signed-in users by email or in the app before they take effect. See also our Terms & Conditions.
